A special Sasquatch sundown with Michael Franti and Spearhead

GEORGE — If there was award for "perfect artist pick at the perfect time," then it would go to the Sasquatch organizers for picking Michael Franti and Spearhead right now.

The sun is falling, casting a beautiful glow across the venue. Franti's tunes have a reggae tinge to them but not overtly. His music creates the same feeling as say Jack Johnson — except Franti has far more substance to his music. There is love and protest. Power and passion.

Like M.I.A., Franti completely controlled the crowd. Instead of chaos, it was a laid-back groovefest. The crowd undulated to the music, throwing up their hands and swaying. Sweet moment.

Now, I wait for Death Cab for Cutie.
