Seems strange that while it's Sonicless in Seattle now, the Emerald City is gathering acclaim as a breeding ground for basketball professionals.
Mike DeCourcy, college basketball writer for The Sportings News, recently ranked his top five places in America for college basketball.
Seattle came in at No. 5.
"This is basketball's quiet factory, producing the long (7-0 Spencer Hawes) and short (5-9 Nate Robinson) and plenty in between (Jon Brockman, Martell Webster, the great Brandon Roy). And the city has no choice now but to fully embrace area schools Washington, Washington State, Gonzaga and newly restored D-1 member Seattle."
Seattle University is scheduled to play 20 games vs. D-1 programs.
