SPOKANE -- The Tennessee Valley Vipers slipped by the Spokane Shock 56-55 in overtime Monday night at the af2 ArenaCup championship at the Spokane Arena.
The game was tied at 48 at the end of regulation. The Shock had first possession in overtime and scored on a 25-yard pass from Nick Davila to Kelvin Dickens. Spokane kicked the extra point, and Brian Jackson gave the hosts a 55-48 lead.
But the Vipers leapfrogged over the Shock with a 24-yard pass from Tony Colston to Alonzo Nix for his fourth TD reception of the night. Colston then ran in the two-point conversion for the victory.
Former Pasco standout Raul Vijil had 14 receptions for 166 yards and four touchdowns for Spokane.
Davila threw for 437 yards and eight touchdowns.
